What we don’t know can hurt us...
Many of us tend to think that what’s on the store shelf, must be safe because we assume that it has been tested and meets some type of criteria established by a regulatory agency. Unfortunately that just isn’t true. In the U.S. there are no legal requirements for listing ingredients on the labels of household cleaning products. Household chemicals don’t come under the jurisdiction of the Food & Drug Administration. The Environmental Protection Agency only regulates pesticides, and the focus of Consumer Product Safety Commission is limited to acute poisoning hazards.

No toxic information is available for more than 80% of the chemicals in everyday-use products.

Product labels, if they list product ingredients at all, can often leave us wondering what we’re actually using in our household cleaning routines. Products that contain chemicals which may be harmful to our health often hide behind vague general terminology. Here are the ingredients listed on a very popular brand of household cleaner:

“Cleaning agents, quality control agents, perfume, colorant and water.”

All we can say to this is, “Wow.”
  • There is a staggering number of types and brands of cleaning products available on store shelves. There really isn’t a need for all the specialized cleaners on the market today. Using them only increases the risk of subjecting ourselves and our families to harmful chemicals.
  • Studies have shown that we spend over 85% of our time indoors. The EPA reports that indoor air quality is often times much more polluted than outdoor air. Cleaning products play a role in generating that pollution.
  •  In addition to our direct contact with chemicals while cleaning, there are chemical residues left behind, and fumes which readily evaporate into the air we breathe. These fumes can aggravate existing respiratory ailments such as asthma.
  • Asthma is a rapidly growing public health problem. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: About 23 million people, including 6.8 million children, have asthma.
  • Women suffer from the most exposure to potentially hazardous cleaning chemicals, as studies show they do the majority of household cleaning.
  • Populations such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with allergies and respiratory ailments are particularly vulnerable to household chemicals. Young children “live on the ground” – crawling on the floor, then putting their hands in their mouth transferring chemical residue. The Soap & Detergent Association (SDA) recommends protecting children from cleaning chemical exposure by only cleaning when they are out of the house. What about the residue left behind?
We just don’t know enough...
We use household chemicals to make our lives easier. But we don’t really know the consequences of regular exposure to them. Are the cleaners we use innocuous? Or are the cleaning products we use actually putting our health at risk? We routinely expose ourselves to chemicals every week, while very little is known about the impact of long-term exposure, or any possible connection to chronic diseases. We just don’t know enough...

So why risk using chemicals? Our “active ingredients?”... You, E-cloth & just plain water

That’s everything you need to know. E-cloth’s only cleaning companion is pure water, no cleaners. Whether they are bio-based, natural, petrochemical-based – there are simply no chemicals to harm you and yours. Furthermore, unless one is allergic to water, there’s nothing to irritate the body.
With E-cloth cleaning you risk nothing...
  • Non toxic
  • Non allergenic

With E-cloth you deep clean with the power of highly advanced fiber function. We’ve been “trained” to believe that we must clean with a variety of household chemicals. But we don’t have to... Once you’ve tried cleaning with E-cloths, you’ll quickly find this out.

We thought this consumer excerpt appropriate:

“It took a while to actually believe that my kitchen, bathroom, glass table, windows (well everything in fact that I used to use various chemicals for) could really be clean without using some sort of chemical.  It was almost as if it were a part of my DNA to believe this was not possible.

However, I have completely got my head out of that frame of mind and I haven’t used a single chemical cleaner now for more than 8 months and my house looks sparkling. In fact because it is so much quicker and easier to clean as there is no rinsing etc., I clean more often and so everywhere is actually cleaner than it used to be.”

Completely chemical-free day-to-day, specialty and heavy-duty household cleaning.
