There’s no doubt that if you’re here, you are in pursuit of something better for you and your family. A safe and healthy alternative. It’s a principle we here at e-cloth stand for firmly.
Most people do not realize the full danger of household chemicals and how little regulation there is on these chemicals. The people that do know, don’t realize that there is an alternative to using toxic chemicals to “clean.” Numerous studies have demonstrated the correlation between regular household chemicals and serious health conditions including obesity, diabetes, brain damage and even cancer.
Out of the 80,000 or so known chemicals used in cleaning products,
the EPA only has data and information on only between 3,000 and 5,000.
To make matters worse, the agency has only required health and safety testing on
a mere 200 of these chemicals, leaving families to wonder how their
long-term health is being affected.
One of the scariest things ever written is this excerpt from a Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons study: “Women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than women working away from the home.” The 15 year study concluded that it is directly linked to the toxic household chemicals in the home. And small children are especially at risk. According to the U.S. Poison Control Centers, “a child is poisoned every 30 seconds at home.” Yikes! What are we allowing into our homes?
Let’s put that into perspective again. When you clean out all those icky chemicals from your cabinets — hint, hint: that you keep locked — they should be disposed of at a special waste facility for hazardous chemicals. If that isn’t revealing, I’m not sure what is.
The need for a safe cleaning alternative has never been greater. In the last two decades, there has been a noticeable shift toward environmentally responsible and green lifestyles. Most likely, this includes your family because you have recognized its importance. Chemical-free cleaning is more than just a product. It is a lifestyle change that is the best alternative for safe and responsible cleaning. Chemical-free cleaning is making a choice to clean differently in order to make your home safer for you and your family, in addition to doing what is best for the home environment.
Cleaning without household cleaners isn’t exactly new. In fact, families have been cleaning with natural cleaning methods by using lemons, baking soda and natural soaps for generations. While it is not new, this is certainly not the “norm” for U.S. households.
Most households are still exposing their families to unknown toxins found in household cleaners. The convenience of spray-and-wipe products has made this a way of life. Side effects of using chemicals and the numerous paper towels and wipes that go along with using chemicals to clean is to pollute our environment — both Earth and home — and load landfills. The movement away from these dangers started with eco-friendly and natural cleaning brands that have less toxicity and minimize pollution, but unfortunately suffer from reduced performance.
The introduction of advanced fibers in cleaning cloths has led to true chemical-free cleaning. e-cloths have over 3.1 million fibers per square inch. Why are fibers important? Dirt, oil, grease, grime and bacteria are trapped by the fibers and oil and water are attracted to the fibers – the more fibers the better the cloth performs. Think of it as millions of tiny hands grabbing everything on the surface of your countertop or sink. By spraying a surface with water and wiping it with a dry e-cloth or dampening an e-cloth to wipe a surface, e-cloth acts as a magnet while the millions of fibers scrape the surface. The result is a clean that you have to experience to believe.
e-cloth® is the worldwide leader in the chemical-free cleaning movement. The reason for e-cloth’s leadership is its assortment of high-performance, task-specific cleaning products making it possible to clean any hard surface in the home with just water and a cloth, and perform beyond your expectations.
